Pokerstars once again dominates the tournament scene with the announcement of the Australia and New Zealand Poker Tour also referred to as ANZPT. This series of tournaments will be held in the land down under and adds to their already existing series of events such as the EPT and APPT.

The first event of the ANZPT is scheduled to take place on Feb 4th 2009 and will be held in the city of Adelaide, Southern Australia.

Following the success of the second season of the APPT earlier this year, we are excited to be expanding poker further throughout this region. The ANZPT will provide Australian and New Zealand poker players with a professionally executed tour in their own backyard,” commented ANZPT spokesperson, Danny McDonagh

Players expected to attend will include Australias leading professional players which include; Grant Levy, Eric Assadourian, Celina Lin, Emad Tahtouh and of course Pokerstars own Joe Hachem.
The poker room has opened up qualifiers and players can take a shot at winning a seat to the AZNT main event as well as $1,500 for accommodations and travel. Total value of the package equals $4,500 US
